"For Those Who Call Here Home" is a transformative public art and design project creating a new community park in Cleveland's historic AsiaTown. Led by artist Jordan Wong (WONGFACE), the initiative will feature sculptures, monuments, and gathering spaces on the Square Dancing Lot, reimagining it as a site of cultural memory and joyful expression. This is more than beautification; it's a declaration of belonging, with younger Asian American artists invited to participate in the creation process. The park will serve as a lasting, welcoming space for storytelling, connection, and cultural affirmation, built by and for the community. It firmly plants AsiaTown's legacy into Cleveland's civic landscape, declaring its enduring presence and significance. This mural was created and initially fundraised by Downtown Cleveland, Inc.’s City Advocates program (which Debbie herself became a member of), and continued to be funded and brought to completion by the Historic Warehouse District Development Corporation as part of a larger mural project. This is one of five murals that connect the Main Avenue corridor from W. 9th to W. 10th, unifying the Warehouse District and The Flats East Bank. Signage for each piece will soon complete the transformation into a sidewalk public art gallery, enhancing downtown’s pedestrian experience through local artists.
